One of the most useful tools I have owned since 1981. (Not the same one)
The immersion hand blender was the first speed up prep tool I purchased at a county fair in 1981. With three small children ages 1, 2 and 3 and all their drink mixes, puddings, sauces, cakes, brownies, pancakes, and waffle batters this proved to be an incredible speed up tool that in about 60 seconds completely blended and mixed all kinds of child delights faster, better and easier than hand mixing, whisking or my beater mixer.
Clean up was usually just a 60 second run in hot soapy water and a rinse. My Bamix hand blender from Switzerland lasted me for a good 15 years being used nearly every day. My children are grown with children of their own and they and their kids use hand blenders.
This is for the more coordinated child who can hold onto a powered device and who rarely drops things. When first allowing a child to use a powered device first hold the device and let them turn it on and off.
Children are sometimes startled by the twisting or vibration of a powered device and will instinctively drop it so it is important that for the first few times you hold the device while your child turns it on and off and uses it. Repeat this a few times until you are satisfied your child can safely handle a powered device.
