These moisture control gauze sponge pads are used in surgical centers. I use them to provide small nourishing amounts of pure water for food storage longevity. I lightly dampen the sponge with pure filtered water having no minerals or additives of any kind. I then open the sponge and completely cover the food going into the refrigerator in a container. I take lettuce and separate all the leaves. I put the lettuce in a hard vacuum container placing the moisture control pads on top. The vacuumed lettuce stays fresh for weeks. I use a variety of containers such as zip lock bags, 8, 16 or 32 oz. food quality microwaveable restaurant containers or vacuum storage containers.
Material: Non-woven sponge, non-sterile, 4 x 4 inch, 4 ply. 100 or 200 Count. Highly absorbent compared to standard gauze products.
